This vintage 6×10 rug is believed to be a Hereke rug, hand-knotted in wool from Turkey circa 1950-1960. Hereke rugs represent one of the most refined rug provenances in Turkey since the 19th century. This piece enjoys a rare pictorial design with elegant depictions of cranes and other birds in a botanical setting. Both its pictorials and florals enjoy a wide range of hues, with especially present pink, green and ivory hues on a beige undertone. This is a finely woven masterpiece, and its versatile size offers vast interior design applications today. Condition: This collectible mid-century Hereke rug further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
