From an exciting new collection of gift-size pieces, this 3×5 Swedish-style accent rug is a bold new addition to the Scandinavian Collection by Rug & Kilim. hand woven in a wool flat weave with undyed natural yarns as well, its design is inspired by Swedish minimalist designs. On the Design: Keen eyes will admire a high-and-low texture, with primarily being a flat weave and having accents of low pile texture. This new flat weave reinvents vintage Scandinavian Kilim sensibilities in ways that both honor the Swedish minimalist aesthetic and modernize its construction. Our use of undyed natural yarns, for example, lends a subtle striae with more of a sense of movement and depth—a subtle nod to Rollakan techniques in a modern fashion. It enjoys shades of blue and beige, with gray and silver stripes within squared geometric patterns in well defined compartmentalization— alternating impeccably for an almost positive-negative colorplay of pleasing movement in this scale. Our flat weave’s more durable, weighted body is also a hallmark of the collection, made for high-traffic and heavy-furniture spaces.
