Ermelunden is a garden furniture series designed by the furniture designer Borge Mogensen in 1965. The name Ermelunden is taken from a small forest in Gentofte, close to where he lived. Intended as a stationary furniture arrangement. It was imperative for Borge Mogensen that his furniture was highly functional. And so it is no coincidence that he chose to give Ermelunden wide feet to prevent the legs from sinking into the grass. Moreover, Borge Mogensen was aware of people's different sitting positions, which is why the backrest is shaped with two different angles, providing support when either sitting up straight or when adopting a more relaxed posture. Borge Mogensen was so pleased with Ermelunden that he chose to have the furniture in his private garden in Gentofte and also at his holiday home near Limfjorden in central Jutland.
