Good Vibes
If timelessness is elusive, at the very least, Good Vibes are an absolute must. Vibes of any kind require some experience of otherness. Sameness doesn’t make vibes, otherness does. How fun is it to sit in a room talking to yourself? Much better to talk with others, don’t you think? So a room filled with sameness is dormant but a room of otherness is alive. You must learn about the other: other places, other people, other times. Take what you learn and make it part of your story. The places you make will not be for everyone across all time. They will be for you in your time.
The Emergence of the Chair
Prior to 17th century, the idea of comfort as we understand it today was unknown. Seemingly all at once, a fashion for sitting pretty emerged in the French court. Since then, a huge array of comfy chairs have become staples. Two of the most comfortable and lasting of these are the wingback chair, which comes to us from England, and the barrel swivel chair which, according to Dame Maggie Smith, is an American invention. Here, we’ve merged the two, so you get some of the cocoon-like protection the wingback provides mixed with the versatility of the barrel swivel. Our Wingback swivel is sold in 6 standard fabrics, with or without welts, and COM. All our seating is available with soft, medium and firm fills.
