This vintage 8×11 rug is a rare new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Muren. Further on the Design: Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, this rug is a testament to Muren’s talent for marrying classic and modern elements in unique ways. The play of the field’s very modern geometric patterns beside the border’s more classically-inspired cartouches is a key example, and few like this artist achieve such a complementary look this way. its colorway, too, exemplifies Muren’s sense of attitude and whimsy, and the whole rug’s level of detail is that of a masterpiece even today. A keen eye may further admire this piece among Muren’s mid-century interpretations of Art Deco sensibilities in a transitional rug style. This curation is furthermore one of the artist’s most collectible designs for its full pile, good condition, and uncommon large size.
