This vintage 5×8 rug is an exciting new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Muren. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970. Further on the Design: This particular design exemplifies Muren’s talent for recapturing a wide range of aesthetics in his own mid-century style. Connoisseurs may observe a nod to French Art Deco and postmodern British sensibilities one seldom sees in mid-century rugs. The field is a warm ochre, and hosts a bold array of funky retro geometric patterns in rich red, sky blue, and chartreuse green. These playful colors and sharp drawings all speak to Muren’s sense of attitude and whimsy that distinguishes his works. Further on the Condition: This mid-century Art Deco rug further enjoys great condition and full pile—a rare find in Zeki Muren’s collectible rugs.
