This vintage 4×7 rug is a new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Muren. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970, its design explores industrial Art Deco sensibilities in a bold fashion for its period. The polychromatic colorway favors chartreuse and sage green, beige-brown, blue and gray notes in its many subtleties. One must admire the sheer attention to craft that achieves this sense of movement—a hallmark of Muren’s rare style. Connoisseurs will note a signature in the upper border that likely remarks the weaver or partner loom. It’s a collectible piece, and an exemplar of Muren’s distinct works in their joyful style and fine craft. Further on the Condition: This mid-century rug further enjoys an otherwise good condition for this shabby-chic style, and is ready for the floor. Keen eyes will note the pile has been lowered to preserve the construction, which lends it a distressed texture
