This vintage 4×7 rug is a new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Muren. Further on the Design: This design connotes Muren’s mid-century take on Art Deco rugs, and seems to draw on Japanese and Chinoiserie aesthetics in its abstract-meets-floral pattern. Brick red, navy blue and white tones move beautifully in this painterly field, and sit gorgeous in the distressed low pile with a look like folk art. This is an extremely collectible piece from this artist, and a versatile choice in size and color to vast applications. Further on the Condition: This mid-century rug further enjoys an otherwise good condition for this shabby-chic lineage. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970.
