Hand hooked originating from the United States between 1910-1920, this antique wool rug enjoys a unique cultural influence from our series of restored pieces of this respected fashion. While sharing some of the traditional sensibilities of this collection, this piece enjoys a unique departure in the juxtaposition of its floral and geometric patchwork, creating a sense of joyful, very lighthearted movement from the colorful dimensionality of the floral motifs to the almost tribal chevrons; playing well off the likewise juxtaposition of soothing green to the vivid red, blue, yellow and orange hues radiating from the variety of colors in this portrait. Further complementing the visual movement is the lack of exact repetition in the patterns, with each tile enjoying individuality and lending further dimensionality to the black gridwork.
Rug & Kilim allows for a 3-day in-home rug trial for you to test the rug in your space before making a final decision. Return shipping is not included.
